October NFL Power Rankings

In the past I have done weekly Power Rankings...what's the point?  The NFL changes so much week-to-week it's hard to keep tabs on whom is better than whom at a given point of the season.

Packers' Head Coach Mike McCarthy likes to break down the season in quarters.  I like that approach.  Monthly Power Rankings is what you are getting from me.  Here we go!

THE OBVIOUS TOP
1.) Denver Broncos (4-0) - Really?  I need to write an explanation?
2.) New Orleans Saints (4-0) - I picked them to win the 2013 NFC in November of 2012
3.) Seattle Seahawks (4-0) - After the Seahawks, its a lot of teams that are pretty equal down to about 27

GOOD STARTS BUT A QUESTION OR TWO
4.) New England Patriots (4-0) - Have played B- to C+ football and are unbeaten #lurking
5.) Kansas City Chiefs (4-0) - Still under the radar in a division with Denver.  Waiting fro Nov 17th @ Broncos
6.) Detroit Lions (3-1) - Reggie Bush should be in the MVP mix IF the Lions are for real
7.) Miami Dolphins (3-1) - Their two road wins in the first two weeks means more to me than Monday
8.) Indianapolis Colts (3-1) - 2010 Packers went from 1st round loss to Super Bowl...#justsayin

SOMETHING TO PROVE IN OCTOBER
9.) San Francisco 49ers (2-2) - As Kaepernick goes, so will the 49ers
10.) Chicago Bears (3-1) - As Cutler goes, so will the Bears
11.) Tennessee Titans (3-1) - Never thought I would say this but Jake Locker injury could hurt them
12.) Cincinnati Bengals (2-2) - Just when you think you know...you don't
13.) Baltimore Ravens (2-2) - SEE ABOVE
14.) Green Bay Packers (1-2) - Aaron Rodgers keeps them in conversation, not much else right now

3 LOSES AGAINST TEAMS A COMBINE 11-1
15.) Atlanta Falcons (1-3) - Jets, Tampa, Arizona & Carolina are the next 4...they'll be back in it soon enough

WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN
16.) Houston Texans (2-2) - Some say they could be 3-1, they could easily(er) be 0-4
17.) San Diego Chargers (2-2) - Could be 4-0...but they are the Chargers
18.) Dallas Cowboy (2-2) - 1-point loss to Chiefs away from being about 7-spots higher
19.) Carolina Panthers (1-2) - Could be 3-0...at least 2-1, right?
20.) Minnesota Vikings (1-3) - If Matt Cassel started all 4-games, 3-1 could have happened.

ENIGMAS
21.) Arizona Cardinals (2-2) - No one was higher on Carson Palmer than me...keyword: HIGH!
22.) New York Jets (2-2) - As my beautiful wife stated "The Jets QB is name Geno? He has to suck."
23.) Buffalo Bills (2-2) - Don't know where I stand.  At all.
24.) Cleveland Browns (2-2) - probably lower than they should be...but seriously, Hoyer and McGehee???
25.) Philadelphia Eagles (1-3) - Week 1 Kool Aid was sooooo good, it had to be Purplesaurus Rex!

REALLY?
26.) St. Louis Rams (1-3) - I expected sooooo much more.  Sam Bradford, meet Christian Ponder.
27.) Washington Redskins (1-3) - Is Bobby 3-Sticks hurt or over ratted?

TEAMS THAT WILL PLAY SPOILER IN NOVEMBER AND DECEMBER
28.) Pittsburgh Steelers (0-4) - You know they are better than 0-4...maybe not a lot but they are
29.) New York Giants (0-4) - Notorious SST...Slow Starting Team.  Hole to big, but 6-7 wins is possible
30.) Oakland Raiders (1-3) - I think Terrelle Pryor can win a couple games...#PalmerHigh

THEY HAVE 99-PROBLEMS AND A QB IS #1
31.) Tampa Bay Bucs (0-4) - Wow...just wow.

JACKSONVILLE
32.) Jacksonville Jaguars (0-4) - They are not worth my

I will check in the first Wednesday of November with the 2nd edition of my 2013 NFL Power Rankings.
