Jennings & Ellis are starless

The NBA’s all-star reserves were named last night and the list does not include any members of the Milwaukee Bucks.

Guards Brandon Jennings and Monta Ellis had their hopes high for a spot on the team but the vote by the Eastern Conference coaches picked Philadelphia point guard Jrue Holiday and Cleveland point guard Kyrie Irving as first time all-stars instead.

After scoring 25 points in a win over Philadelphia on Tuesday, Jennings said he wouldn’t be surprised if he did or didn’t make it.

Jennings is currently averaging 18.7 points, 5.8 assists and 3.5 rebounds a game.  He twice was named Eastern Conference player of the week.

Ellis is averaging 18.8 points and 5.5 assists a game and the two, having to play in the same backcourt together, may have cancelled themselves out in the eyes of the voters.

The last time the Bucks had somebody voted onto an all-star team was in 2004 when Michael Redd was chosen for the game in Los Angeles.
